Festival of Lights @ Hill Ridge Farms

During the Festival of Lights, Hill Ridge Farms will be transformed into a magical celebration of Hometown Christmas Cheer! Their Covered wagon hayride will take you through one of the biggest Christmas light displays on the east coast. They will have plenty of great food, bonfires, and traditional Christmas music that the entire family will enjoy!

What better way to celebrate the holidays with your friends and family than to go to Hill Ridge Farms for a beautiful Old Fashioned Christmas celebration!

1st annual Christmas Light Show @ It's a Zoo Life

Join It’s a Zoo Life for Christmas with the animals. The Zoo will be transformed into a wonderful holiday light display complete with train rides and hot cocoa!

Santa’s Wonderland @ Bass Pro Shop

Cary-area families are invited to welcome Santa as he officially arrives from the North Pole to Santa’s Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops—now transformed into a massive Christmas village with FREE games, fun activities and crafts for the whole family. Features include rustic Christmas cabins, holiday characters and live elves set amongst a dazzling backdrop of snow-covered hills and illuminated Christmas trees. Families can enjoy the wonder of Christmas inside Bass Pro Shops with Santa’s Wonderland through December 24 including free photos with Santa.

In the spirit of the season, Bass Pro Shops again this year invites customers to support service members, military families and veterans at stores across the country through a donation program for the United Service Organizations (USO) and AMVETS. Beginning on Veteran’s Day, November 11, through the end of the year, customers can round up their purchases purchase and donate the balance to the nonprofit organizations.

Island of Lights Festival @ Pleasure Island

Pleasure Island is home to an island-wide holiday festival featuring nightly lighted displays around Carolina Beach Lake, along with businesses and homes decked out in their seasonal best. Enjoy the fantastic light displays and holiday cheer with signature events taking place through December 31, all in Carolina Beach and Kure Beach!

Lake Myra Christmas Lights @ Downtown Wendell

This drive-in style, interactive light show features more than 400,000 dancing lights synched up with holiday music–it’s one of the largest light displays on the east coast. The show typically lasts between 30 and 45 minutes and is free admission.

NC Chinese Lantern Festival @ Koka Booth Amphitheatre

Cary’s Booth Amphitheatre will once again be transformed into a magnificent setting when the North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival returns this holiday season! The Festival will include more than 20 displays, each one comprised of hundreds of parts and thousands of LED lights. In what proved to be a fan favorite last year, the spectacular Chinese Dragon on Symphony Lake will return to mesmerize visitors. Each larger than life lantern will once again wow visitors with their amazing craftsmanship, cultural significance and artistic beauty. A new feature this year will be the addition of cultural performances and artisan crafts. Performances will include traditional Chinese dance, foot juggling and vase juggling, and Wushu/Kung Fu.

Ira David Wood III’s: A Christmas Carol @ DPAC

Ira David Wood III’s beloved musical comedy, A Christmas Carol, celebrates its 43rd Anniversary this year and will return to DPAC December 14 through 17. The show has been performed annually since 1974 and has been named one of the “Top 20 Events in the Southeast.” Cited as “one of the most successful shows in North Carolina theatre history,” A Christmas Carol has enjoyed critically acclaimed tours to England and France.

NC Symphony’s Christmas with the Callaway Sisters @ Meymandi Concert Hall
